No depth, very pedestrian, no character development, just a lot of describing. Of daily activity, what they’re eating. And I’m not interested in any mindset behind perverse behaviors. I’m 1/3 in and I’m giving up on it. Maybe I can get my money back.

The ending seemed rushed compared to pared to the rest of the book. Still a very good read which is what you expect from Nora Roberts.

it's fine...not great, not good, just a completely recycled story that got axed from her other series and just moved the parts around to make her deadline. This kind of formalistic cut and paste writing is getting tired and she should give money back to everyone that paid full price cause it was a $7.99 book.
  • Not Nora’s Best

I’ve been reading Nora’s books for about 30 years and this is not her best book. Not only are the main characters, not as relatable as I have come to expect, but the plot suspense was ruined within the first few chapters; you could tell essentially what was coming. I’m not sure why there is such a difference between this book and others that have been so fun to read, but I feel like I just read a book that was not really written by Nora Roberts. I’m hoping the next one is better.

Great read. Finished in three days, oh well, laundry can always wait, right?
