Ranger's Baby

Love this story, it was hard to put it, I kept reading it to find out what happens next. Looking forward to the next book.

Great read

Loved this book. It had highs and lows and scary moments. Loved all the characters and the way everyone came together for the baby!! I’m so ready for them to find their father ALIVE and begin a happy life again.

This is the 2nd book in the Iron Horse Series and I love it. The characters are wonderful! Duncan and Fiona have been best friends for years who become lovers then parents (secret baby!). But of course this IS Elle James, so it’s not quite that easy, there are twists, turns, mystery, suspense and surprises along the way. I couldn’t put it down and actually found myself talking to the book (don’t judge me!) :) Total winner in the rereads list!!

Fiona has been in love with her best friend since grade school. Only, he doesn’t “see” her as anything more than “one of the boys”. Fiona was always more tomboy than she was girlie girl. After losing her parents, she was welcomed into the McKinnon family, but felt she was truly alone. Until... Duncan McKinnon, Army Ranger, has returned to Eagle Rock on medical leave after surviving a helicopter crash while deployed. Duncan’s father is missing and they suspect foul play. Duncan hasn’t seen or heard from his best friend, Fee, in over 13mths. Not since they crossed the line one fateful night. After receiving a frantic call from Fee about a break-in at her house, he races over to make sure she’s okay. Only to find out the secret Fee’s been hiding from him and his family the last 9mths. Duncan is a daddy! Duncan is your typical Alpha man hero. He’s protective, somewhat controlling, honorable, and loving. Duncan realizes Fee is a proud, independent woman who won’t marry him out of obligation. So he sets out to show her his love for her and Caity. While working together to solve the mystery behind the disappearance of his father, the murders of a couple of town’s people, and the break-in at Fee’s house, they realize their love for each other. But can they escape the Faulkner’s treacherous acts? While I truly enjoyed Duncan and Fee’s story, I was a little disappointed at the abrupt ending. I fully expected the McKinnon patriarch to be found. Otherwise, it was a very suspenseful, romantic novel. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Duncan McKinnon and Fiona Guthrie were childhood friends who had a one night stand prior to him going on a 13 month detail for the military. She has his baby and he comes home to find his father who is missing. I love the story and characters because you go to see and feel both sides of their thoughts. Totally a great story. Highly recommend this book and series. You will be pulled into the story and will have a hard time putting it down til it's over. Another Elle James awesome read.

This is book 2 in the Iron Horse Legacy series and it features Duncan and Fiona. The best of friends since fourth grade and one night with a little too much alcohol and surprise! He comes home from Afghanistan to find out he’s a daddy and someone is threatening their lives. Not only are they still looking for his father, James McKinnon, he must keep the woman he’s discovered he loves as more than a friend and their daughter safe. Does she feel the same for him? The characters are fantastic and the story line has great action! What’s better than military alphas turned cowboys? Nothing, that’s what! Both times the author took us to the Faulkner‘s, I was holding my breath in anticipation. I can’t wait for the next book in the awesome series!

Duncan McKinnon, Army Ranger, hurt on his last deployment has come home to recuperate and to help his brothers find their still missing father. What he doesn’t expect is to see Fiona Guthrie his best friend from childhood and his one night fling before he deployed 15 months ago, who is now a deputy sheriff and the mother of a 6 month old baby girl named Caity. Fiona knows its time to tell Duncan and his family that Caity is his daughter but she has been afraid that he will turn his back on them...but when her home is broken into and trashed who does she call but Duncan... When you go from life long friends to lovers then add in a surprise you get a very engaging book filled with suspense, mystery, secrets, drama, heart felt emotions and a HEA! Can not wait for the next book...

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. I absolutely fell in love with these two characters. Duncan McKinnon and Fiona Guthrie were childhood friends. Right before Duncan leaves for a 13 month deployment, he has a few beer at a local tavern. Fiona lives right next door and takes him home to sleep it off. Well one thing leads to another and Fiona welcomes a baby girl, Caity, into the world. Fiona tells Duncan that he is a father after her home in broken into and trashed. Duncan came home injured and to find his missing father (father went missing in the first book of the series and is the sub-plot running throughout the series). The plot is well written and flows very nicely. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Duncan and Fiona's story. This story is written in a dual POV format which is wonderful for me. Getting a glimpse into the characters' thoughts and feelings really makes them feel human and me a part of the scene. There were some major potholes in their road to a HEA and I was glad to be along for the journey. It only took me a nice afternoon to have a bookcation. I was sad to see this story come to an end but I look forward to another brother getting his HEA told. There was a bedroom scene but it was not told in graphic detail so it really shouldn't offend anyone but probably should only be read by someone over the age of 18. I highly recommend this story to anyone. I would give this 10 stars if I could!!!!
