INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The world’s most celebrated thriller writer and author of The Da Vinci Code returns with his most stunning novel yet—a propulsive, twisty, thought-provoking masterpiece that will entertain readers as only Dan Brown can do.

Robert Langdon, esteemed professor of symbology, travels to Prague to attend a groundbreaking lecture by Katherine Solomon—a prominent noetic scientist with whom he has recently begun a relationship. Katherine is on the verge of publishing an explosive book that contains startling discoveries about the nature of human consciousness and threatens to disrupt centuries of established belief. But a brutal murder catapults the trip into chaos, and Katherine suddenly disappears along with her manuscript. Langdon finds himself targeted by a powerful organization and hunted by a chilling assailant sprung from Prague’s most ancient mythology. As the plot expands into London and New York, Langdon desperately searches for Katherine . . . and for answers. In a thrilling race through the dual worlds of futuristic science and mystical lore, he uncovers a shocking truth about a secret project that will forever change the way we think about the human mind.

Beach reading at best, but thanks for the information and references on an intriguing topic. I’d rather have read this as a textbook without the convoluted story line.

Would be four stars if five hundred pages shorter

This book starts out with a bang and quickly devolves into a snooze fest of repetitive technical information meant to crank up the “mystery” and keep the reader in suspense. It had the opposite effect for this reader. Even the romance felt forced. If it was meant to be a cautionary tale of government brain control it was unsuccessfully bewildering.

Best book of his series. So scientifically precise and a riveting tale.

Boring read. Painful and never ending level of detail detracts from a plausible scenario and conclusion.

The Secret of Secrets does what Brown does best: it offers a roller‑coaster read that toys with big ideas, ancient mysteries, believable scientific fringe, and authentic historical flavor. If you enjoy page‑turners that make you pause and think—“What if this were true?”—this one delivers. It may not redefine the genre, but it more than proves that Brown still knows how to make secrets feel weighty and dangerous, and facts feel like fuel for adventure. It’s thought-provoking, addictive, and quintessentially Brown.

This is not one of Dan Brown’s best efforts . Too many pages of technical explanation which will have most readers crossing their eyes! It just moves too slowly and is too technical.
