With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

One of the most moving books about war I have read in a long time. Although it is fiction, one can see the truth in how ugly war is. It makes you wonder how anyone’s ambition for power can be so strong to destroy!

I’m kicking myself for putting this off for so long. I’m not much of a historical fiction kind of person but this book was so so good. It made me tear up and I haven’t cried for a book in awhile. I wish I could read it over again for the first time. So good.

Amazing character development and deep thought with creating a beautiful narrative for the harshness of what happened in France.
