An enjoyable, passionate read. I liked that the characters were more mature and the story was long, but quite in depth. There weren’t any wow factors or anything to n the story to make me devour it. It was nice, sweet and a good read.

A lover’s memoir by an anonymous author causes a sensation amongst the ton and everyone wants to know if Knightly is Lord K in “The Notorious Lord Knightly” by Lorraine Heath, book two of The Chessmen: Masters of Seduction series!!! Miss Regina Leyland was jilted on her wedding day and returned from the continent to be with her ailing earl of a father. Now, she plans to marry so her child has the protection she never had. Arthur Pennington, the Earl of Knightly, wishes he could stay away from Reggie however moth to flame as it always was. I enjoy a love at first sight meet cute and even more when one of the main characters does not care of the other’s parentage. Regina and Knightly’s attraction, chemistry, and easiness was present then and now, but with a stronger woman’s attitude. I love that Regina has no problem telling Knightly off anywhere, why not? He jilted her and she wants the truth! However, the real reason for the jilting is devastatingly emotional and I want to hug him! When Regina finally finds out, her reaction makes her a queen amongst the ton! Also, the twists regarding Regina and her half siblings who never acknowledged her presence keep us questioning if she will have the family she always longed for or if she is part of a sick joke. Knightly’s own family drama adds conflict to their epic love story. If you love second chance romances then I highly recommend this book!! Thank you to Net Galley, Avon, and Harper Voyager US for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.
