Description

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.
The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

Look for CROSSED, the sequel to MATCHED, in Fall 2011!

This book had an excellent message and was very beautiful. The reason why it wasn’t a SUPER good book is because it is really boring at times but it was still an interesting read. The love triangle is pure gold and I adore Xander and Ky I just wish that they both had someone better than cassia even though she is a great lead.

Decent writing but I HATED the plot ... ended up finishing the series bc I can’t not finish a series I start but yikes I was angry the whole time. The series doesn’t end well IMO either.

I have read all of the books and I would say this is one of the bests out of all three but it was not the best book I have ever read.
  • Definitely okay; interesting read in the US political environment of 2020

First off, let me start this review by saying I’m looking forward to the second book in hopes it has more action. This book was somewhat like the Hunger Games if the Hunger Games had less action and more love triangle drama. Sometimes I would think to myself, “Okay calm down. You’re 17.” Basically it parallels in that the lead character is a older teenage girl questioning the values of her government. This book was definitely an easy read, but I never quite felt the “I can’t put it down yet until I know what happens next” feeling until the last ~3 chapters. Then this whole book kind of felt like a set up to the next book in the series. The writing is beautiful and it is definitely a tale worth telling as there are parallels to be wary of in our political environment. Just be prepared for a bit of a slow read.

I feel this book had a lot of potential but failed to achieve what it could have. Not to be negative- this was actually quite a good read. But I feel it could have had a lot more in it. I also feel the main character doesn’t go on much of an emotional journey. In other words, I feel this book was OK.
  • Great book

I loved the end of the book. It got so much more interesting in the middle of the book. I would highly suggest this book for anyone who like si-fi or romance. I only hate that it ends with a cliff hanger. Over all it was a great book.
