Description

In this New York Times bestseller, a single father discovers the true nature of unconditional love when a new chance at happiness turns his world upside down.

At 32, Russell Green has it all: a stunning wife, a lovable six year-old daughter, a successful career as an advertising executive, and an expansive home in Charlotte. He is living the dream, and his marriage to the bewitching Vivian is at the center of it. But underneath the shiny surface of this perfect existence, fault lines are beginning to appear . . . and no one is more surprised than Russ when every aspect of the life he has taken for granted is turned upside down.
In a matter of months, Russ finds himself without a job or a wife, caring for his young daughter while struggling to adapt to a new and baffling reality. Throwing himself into the wilderness of single parenting, Russ embarks on a journey at once terrifying and rewarding -- one that will test his abilities and his emotional resources beyond anything he's ever imagined.
When a chance encounter with an old flame tempts him to take a chance on love again, he will navigate this new opportunity with trepidation and wonder. But with the loyal support of his parents, the wisdom of his older sister, Marge, and in the hard-won lessons of fatherhood, Russ will finally come to understand the true nature of unconditional love -- that it is a treasure to be bestowed, not earned.

Well written and interesting story about different situations between characters and I cannot believe, that how much a human being let the other part humiliate, dominate and treated like the maid of the house 🏡 !!!!! Because he loves her so much? Thanks well Recommend

  • Horrible. Sad (not in a poignant way). Hopeless

The book drones on & on. I could not finish. It’s painful to get to know these ugly characters. I don’t even believe Nicholas Sparks actually wrote it.

Honestly I hate yo say this but this is one of the worst I have read for Nicholas Sparks. I couldn’t even finish the book because it was so boring & not what I am used to when it comes to his amazing novels. I have read each of his books & me we thought that I would be disappointed. Don’t recommend this book at all.
  • The worst Sparks novel, ever!

This had to be the most boring and drawn out of all of Nicholas Sparks’ novels. Usually I love everything he writes, but this was ROUGH. The first half of the book droned on and on about how Russ knew something was wrong with his marriage. Then another fourth of the book chronicling his meltdown after she leaves. I continued reading because it had to get better, right? This is Nicholas Sparks, it HAS to get better...there’s a twist coming. Nope. Nothing. So incredibly boring. Stick to what you’re good at! The formula works!
