Description

No last names. No life stories. Those were the rules.
Once upon a time a cocky, copper-haired tourist sauntered into Zara’s bar. And even though she knew better, Zara indulged in a cure for the small-town blues. It was supposed to be an uncomplicated fling—a few sizzling weeks until he went back to his life, and she moved on.
Until an accidental pregnancy changed everything.
Two years later, she’s made peace with the notion that Dave From Brooklyn will never be found. Until one summer day when he walks into her coffee shop, leveling her with the same hot smile that always renders her defenseless.
Hockey star Dave Beringer has never forgotten the intense month he spent with prickly Zara. Their nights together were the first true intimacy he’d ever experienced. But the discovery of his child is the shock of a lifetime, and his ugly past puts relationships and family out of reach.
Or does it? Vermont’s countryside has a way of nurturing even tortured souls. The fields and the orchards—and hard won love—are Bountiful.

Really enjoyed and loved this book, however, did not care at all for the sleazy language. Clean that up and it’s awesome.

what can i say, really! my hands automatically tap 5 stars with Sarina Bowen, it’s like i’d be cheating if i not. the book was great, i was awake until nearly 6 in the morning to finish it and it’s not enough, it is never enough. anyway, whoever is a fan of Brooklyn Bruisers need to read it. the cameo character from True North to Brooklyn Bruisers was good idea, missing them already.. the as-always strong woman character, the warm family feeling, the ending and problem solving the book, it’s all so natural. and Dave... my GingerDaddy. it was amazeballs i loved how she writes with no unnecessary drama, it’s like real life story, how a single mother live, how small twos works, and the Vermont? i want to visit it. it couldn’t be more amazing. the most important part in the books was how she describe Zara, a strong woman with the ability to do whatever she want without worrying about other opinion and how she describe her independency, it’s everything a woman need to know. like always you never disappoint your fans Sarina. love you and looking forward to the more books in these series. PS: i can real until book number 10 PSS: i feel like i know who’s the next character. you just get the feeling.
  • Totally awesome story! Loved the blend of Characters

If you have read both story lines you will recognize most of the players. I could have read this in one sitting but spaced over a couple of days to keep the enjoyment going. Another great read!

I am so excited to share the newest book in Sarina Bowen’s True North series, Bountiful. I have loved each book in this series, but Bountiful has moved in and settled itself into a very spacious condo in my heart. I am still reading this book, in fact I have probably re-read certain passages multiple times this week alone. I am not ready let it go. I loved Zara and Dave - their pure chemistry is truly what pulled me in. But even more, I just loved how Sarina wove it all together. For me it was magic. It is no secret that I love a secret baby book. There, I’ve said it (AGAIN). Though I have never truly articulated it, I think it is the idea that two people who might actually destined to be together are linked by a person that they will love with their whole hearts and from there another love blooms. That said, while it is just one element of Sarina Bowen’s Bountiful, it is done just so perfectly. Zara Rossi is proud, prickly and pragmatic. She guards her heart behind granite walls with room for only those she trusts implicitly. I loved her. I loved that she was unapologetic about her wild teen years. I loved that she became friends with a former lover’s girlfriend. I loved that while she was protective of her own her heart, she was doubly fierce when it came to protecting her sweet baby’s. But even more I loved seeing her give the gift of her own heart to a man who would do nothing short of cherish it. Dave Beringer is a great guy and even better man -- I defy you not fall head over heels for him. He takes care of those that matter most to him and it pours off the page. From his sister to his teammates to the way he absolutely respected Zara. I could babble on and on about David Beringer and still wouldn’t convey enough about this character. That magic that I alluded to? *SIGH. SIGH. SIGH* It goes way beyond any chemistry (which WHOA is hot) that they share. It is their own strength and the goodness in their hearts to never put themselves in front of what is best for their child. It’s watching them get to know the people that they are beyond a bed (a wall or a door) and just how they do respect and love the other. Maybe I will amend that to say, it’s not just magic, but how real life should feel. One of the tenants of the True North series is the sense of community and here it expands beyond the Shipley family, though we feel their pull. We should all have a Ruth Shipley in our lives, that person with the biggest of hearts, who welcomes all to her table, but will take you to task in heartbeat when you need it. PS – She is reason #102 why you need this series in your life – Today. From that fabulous cover and every single word in between Bountiful needs to be at the very top of your TBR. Happy reading!!!! Laurie’s Rating: All the stars in the Vermont sky.
